Version 1.35 - Quicker Topics


The game should now introduce vital vocabulary even faster than before. 

As I was tuning words and adjusting some more categories, I was noticing that it was still taking longer than I'd like for a player to learn the absolute vital vocabulary. The idea is someone could pull up the game, Master 10-20 words, and still have gained something valuable from the game even if they don't strive to reach all 1000.

However, because the game takes one word from every pack of words, the most vital words weren't being shown quickly enough. But I still like how the spread out nature of the word bank, as it means that rather than say, learning 40 animals at a time, you can instead be learning 20 animals, along a splattering of positional words and weather words. 

To address this, I've made a major update to how the game populates from the packs. Rather than grabbing a nonverb from the top four packs, the game now grabs two nonverbs from the most prioritized pack, and then another word from each of the next two packs (still four nonverbs total)

In other words, whatever pack seems the most important is the one that gets a higher share of words drawn from it. Doing a dry run through the game's start finally feels like it's in that right spot now of giving all those awesome terms that even a novice learner would appreciate while venturing around Korean.
